Broomfield Chamber of Commerce CEO resigns

Sam Taylor, President and CEO of the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce, will step down on May 6 after nearly 5 years with the organization. Taylor will join the charity Lafayette Imagine! as the new Director of Community and Employment Services on May 16.

Imagine! serves people with physical, developmental and intellectual disabilities. Taylor intends to direct people with disabilities to jobs needed by local businesses.

“With my experience, I will work with the different chambers,” Taylor said.

While Taylor has recently faced health issues, the transition to Imagine! was planned ahead of any unexpected health events, he said.

“It had nothing to do with my health, at all,” Taylor said.

Taylor led the chamber during the pandemic and has spoken of it as one of her defining accomplishments with the chamber.

“During the pandemic, the chamber was there for our businesses to promote them, let people know what was open and how to support local businesses, and even helped businesses navigate the various funds coming from the federal government as well as the state and local governments. “Taylor said in a statement released by the chamber on Tuesday.

The search for a new CEO has already begun, according to Pat Monacelli, director of membership and marketing for the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce.

“Our executive committee will review resumes, conduct interviews and hire a new CEO,” Monacelli said.

Taylor will continue to work with chamber members until his departure in May and will attend three chamber events during his final days as CEO.

“I have a lot of transitioning to do,” Taylor said.
